Helping your parents age well (and live longer)
Science-first recommendations for parents ages 55β75: the foods, workouts, sleep tools, supplements, and standards that can help them stay stronger, safer, and healthier longer.
Why We Exist
The wellness industry optimizes for commissions. Parents Longevity Lab ranks categories against peer-reviewed research and independent lab programs (Clean Label Project, Consumer Reports, NAOOA) β plus clinical sleep medicine principles where batch testing does not apply.
Our Methodology
Food and beverage picks trace to published test suites or verified lab certificates. Sleep products follow evidence hierarchies from bodies like the AASM and NIH β bright morning light, darkness at night, sensible masking, and hard avoids (e.g., alcohol as a βsleep aidβ). Affiliate links never determine ordering.
Workout Standard
We prioritize boring-but-powerful movement: progressive resistance training, daily walking, balance work, mobility, and grip / leg strength. Fitness recommendations must be scalable for older adults, evidence-backed, and framed safety-first β not influencer theatrics.
Parent-Care Standards
Every recommendation has to answer: would I confidently suggest this for my own parents? We favor transparent lab testing, low contaminant burden, realistic adherence, medication/safety caveats, and clear avoid guidance when a product category is overhyped or risky.
Transparency
We use affiliate links. When you buy through our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our rankings β products are scored before any affiliate relationship is considered. Every study we cite links directly to PubMed.
Living Meta-Analysis
Our research page features a living meta-analysis that synthesizes all cited studies into key findings. As new research is published, we update both the individual study entries and the overall synthesis, keeping our rankings evidence-current.
